YAXCHE EMBROIDERY CO-OP

Yaxche is a Mayan Village located 2 hours northwest of Tulum.

​

The women of this village play an important role in generating income for their community.  They have been creating beautiful handmade, embroidered clothing for centuries.  More recently, they have begun to create embroidered bed coverings and pillow coverings, recognizing that residents and visitors alike are entranced by their skill and craftsmanship.

The Rotary Club of Tulum has a goal to encourage local boutique hotels to commit to purchase these beautiful works of art to grace the beds of their guestrooms.  To achieve this goal will require the purchase of additional sewing machines and other equipment.
